Alex Lexson
Alex Lexson is co-founder and Executive Director at Acts of Service, a non-profit organization dedicated to empowering hospitality professionals in San Francisco.
Alex is passionate about the hospitality industry and has experienced firsthand the opportunities that the hospitality industry can provide if you have a supportive community.
Alex joined the hospitality industry straight out of high school and has worked in the hospitality industry for nearly 25 years, primarily with MGMResorts International. She pursued a degree in psychology but found working in Operations more rewarding and challenging. Alex worked her way up to Assistant Hotel Manager at ARIA Resort and Casino where she was on the opening team for the Front Office. She continued to pursue Department Head and Leadership roles where she could learn as much as possible about providing the highest level of service and positively impacting her team.
Alex was lucky to work in a company that provided the resources to progress in her career. MGMResorts International allowed Alex to gain skills and knowledge that she could instantly apply in her roles. Those resources included Diversity Training, Forbes 5-Star Service Training, Leadership Development programs, educational networking opportunities, and mentoring from world-class leaders in the industry that helped guide her along her career and encouraged Alex to progress in her career inside the MGMResorts International hotels.
Alex’s vision is to create an organization where those resources are available to the hospitality professionals living and working in San Francisco and bring awareness of the opportunities the hospitality industry can open up.
Alex is also a retired Staff Sergeant in the United States Army with 8 years of experience as an Instructor in the U.S. Army National Guard’s Recruit Sustainment Program.
